Funerals

The death of a loved one can be a difficult time. A time of conflicting emotions and confusion. Making decisions can be hard. I will visit you and find out all about your loved one. I worked for many years as a palliative care nurse, both in a hospice and in the community. So I am accustomed to being in people’s homes and comfortable speaking with grieving families and about their loved one who has died. I will help you as a family to create a bespoke service. I will do this with as much guidance from you as you would like. I will suggest readings and write the eulogy, unless you want to do so. I will create a service which you can have printed. I will liaise with the funeral directors and place of burial, internment of ashes or crematorium regarding your wishes. I am creative and can ensure the service is just as you would like.

Personalised Service

I believe that everyone deserves a personalised service. I take a pride in my compassionate approach to families that also creates a personalised funeral.

What you can Expect

You may approach Edinburgh Celebrant direct or be referred by a Funeral Director. After you have selected me as your celebrant,  I will phone you to take basic details and arrange to visit with you and as many family members as you wish.

During that visit we will agree an outline order of service and I will gather information for the eulogy.

I will then email you the order of service and eulogy to be corrected or changed by you.

Once finalised. we will email you the final order of service for you to have printed as you wish.

I will liaise with you and the funeral director.

On the day I will be there to care for all of you and make sure the service runs efficiently yet compassionately.

After the ceremony we will send you a full copy of the service.
